Welcome to the new Blues Society of Central PA (BSCP) website!

The BSCP is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the preservation, promotion, support and enjoyment of the truly original American art form, the blues.

Our goal is to be a complete local resource for all blues lovers, or anyone seeking to broaden their musical experience. During the course of the year, we host or sponsor many blues events and festivals, some free to the public, featuring local, regional and nationally known acts. And via our free weekly electric blues jams each Thursday night and acoustic jams the first Wednesday of the month, we’re promoting local talent. We invite all local bluesmen and women, no matter where they are on their blues playing journey, to get up on stage and perform and grow in front of appreciative audiences.

All of our events are open to the public, but being a BSCP member has its privileges and helps in the effort to host and sponsor great blues events. You can become a member for $10 a year, which gets you into both the annual Mississippi Railroad event in July and the annual all-you-can-eat Christmas party in December.

On this website you’ll learn about events and personalities that drive the blues genre in and around Central PA. We hope you enjoy it and join in on the fun.

    BSCP ANNUAL TREASURER'S PICNIC

The Blues Society of Central Pa. is proud to present its 2015 annual Treasurer's Picnic on Sunday, May 29, from noon to 7 p.m. at the Shellsville VFW Picnic Grounds on North Crawford Road in Grantville, PA.

Tickets are $20 if purchased in advance or $25 if purchased on the grounds on the day of the picnic. For advance tickets, please call Dot Grubb at 717-982-6954, or buy them at the Thursday night jam at Champions Bar and Grill in Highspire.

Annually, this event serves as the BSCP’s primary fundraising event. Proceeds allow the BSCP to continue to serve the interests of blues lovers through weekly and monthly jams and sponsoring and hosting national and regional blues bands.

This event is a tremendous value for several reasons. First, it brings together a relentless, eclectic mix of blues styles, both on the main stage and the acoustic stage, which presents performances while the next act sets up on the main stage. And secondly, the food and beverages - all you can eat and all the cold beer and soda you can drink.

The following is the performance schedule for the picnic:

1:00 p.m. Main Stage: Silver Junction
1:45 p.m. Acoustic Stage: Don Judy & Tom Cook
2:05 p.m. Main Stage: Acoustic Stew
2:50 p.m. Acoustic Stage: Keith Kailian
3:10 p.m. Main Stage: Ben Brandt & Co.
3:55 p.m. Acoustic Stage: Roger Hammer
4:15 p.m. Main Stage: Nate Myers & the Aces
5:00 p.m. Acoustic Stage: Tomm Dunn
5:20 p.m. Main Stage: Don Johnson Project
    6:05 p.m. Acoustic Stage: TBD
6:25 p.m. Main Stage: Buzzard Luck

The BSCP would like to express extreme gratitude to the performing artists.
